Default Sample of the life (fish food) in my local brook...

Had a delve around in my local brook this morning, and here's a sample of what I found...I'm going to have a go at nymphing this afternoon, so just wondering what kind of fly you would recommend? I don't have a great selection, but I have a couple of gold head pheasant tail nymphs I thought my be worth a pop?

Hi jeast,
Good samples, Flat Bodies nymphs, Olives and Fresh Water Shrimps, must be a healhty stream. Gold Head PTN's should do the trick, as would standard PTN's, and Hares Ear patterns.
I prefer to use black or metalic green tungsten heads on my PTN's, these seem to catch me more fish.
Gary.

Interesting, don't like the look of the shrimp on the bottom right of the picture. Looks a bit like the nasty shrimp that is in the news at the mo. I can see what looks like a normal freshwater shrimp at the top of the picture and that looks normal but the other one looks different. Probably nothing tho.
