Default cortland floater

hi ppl, recently my cortland floater has been coiling on the water, sitting on top in zigzags? would a stretch sort this or do i need a new line? was thinking a pp or barrio line.

Which model is it? The 444 has very low memory.

If the line isn't cracked or damaged I would certainly try stretching it before giving up on it. I had previous advice on this, and was advised my line might have been reeled on twisted. I was advised to feed all my line out into a long stream and let it dangle for a minute or three and let the current untwist the fly line. I then carefully reeled it back on, under the tension of the rod bend, with someone else holding the end of the line. It worked a treat. Hope that's all that's wrong with your line.

what size reel do you keep it on?. my dad has one 7wf on a greys 7/8 grxi they do have a good size arbor-spool on them and it is fine no memory at all.

I'd try untwisting before stretching.
