Default Repairing wading boots.

The felt soles in my wading boots are totally worn through and in need of re-soling. How and where can I get this done, also is there soles that give more grip than felt and studs. The boots I have are Simms, I think they are the old freestone leather ones.

I believe there was a really good thread on this subject not so long ago! Try doing a search! I remember that Bostik Waterproof Glue being recommended as being the best for replacing soles, and you'll need some strong tape to hold the soles in place. Not sure you can purchase the latest material soles for replacement.

I think there's a Forum member who repairs leaking waders I'm not sure if he re-soles the boots though.

One of the members will probably know his name.

Another vote for diver Dave. Drop him an email on Dave@wader-repair.co.UK for advice.

He did a fairly battered pair of patagonias for me at the end of last season. Service was exceptional and very reasonably priced. Just tested them severely last weekend and the tepairs cannot be faulted.

If you are going to do the boots yourself, the bostik waterproof is good.
