Default Fires

Everyone must now be aware of the heath and moorland fires over the past few days and now I'm thinking of the repercussions on the lochs, loughs and lakes in the affected areas.

A lot of the fishes food will be airborne, blown off the surrounding vegetation and landing on the water, so if this vegetation is burnt away then what will they feed on?

Around my folks place the lochs are naturally acidic so I'm assuming there's not much in the water itself so should I be getting worried for the following year?

The heather has been burnt for years to encourage new growth. This will also encourage extra insect life so would not worry to much.
