Do you have a direct link? I googled "Hugh Falkus Appreciation Society" and only got this page and others you opened on various Spey and Salmon Fora. They were no more informative than this post really.

Fairly shabby attempt. Better buying Chris Newtons book, at least it's accurate.

I wonder if there's a hidden adgenda here .............. perhaps to sell some signed copies of his books .......... nah that would nasty

Well spotted Mr Vass, I was wondering what motive caused Simon to change his opinion on Hugh Falkus.

Oh,here we go again...Blah,blah,blah...blah,blah!
I completely agree and stand by my statement but he was still an excellent writer and contributed more to the sport of modern day game angling than any other. That doesn't make him an Arc Angel especially when it came to his personal life.
As DJ wrote,Chris Newtons book is presumably accurate in detail and the book if read says exactly what he was like.
In some kind of comparison from my perspective Oskar Schindler was a similar kind of character.Short tempered, rude and very arrogant but the good far out weighed the bad.
Either way I'm not getting into a discussion about what Hugh Falkus was like now. I've put my points forward in the past on this Forum and the past is exactly what it is.
So Mr Vass & Dabchick,You don't need to waste your time wondering about it anymore now do you.You can both utilise your time more effectively.
