Default Beecraigs Fishery

Afternoon,

Got a day ticket booked on Beecraigs next Tuesday - wondering how it's fishing? Lines/tactics/flys/locations would also be awesome seeing as I've never fished this!!!

Thanks in advanced!

Great boat fishery, but if the weathers bright, it can go deep.
For not a huge size, there is varity, up the top you have a bay round the wee island, then towards the back and the dam wall it goes deep.
Lot of land flies - Hawthorns and daddies, etc used.
But damsels and buzzers used to work here just fine.
Although i have been in a boat with the "booby" brigade?!
Can be a nice quiet water, should be good on a Tuesday, not too much public walking round the water.
Lucky man, Tight Lines

Had a wee walk round last night, noticed board claimed really good catches fish caught was averaging at 4.5 per angler. Which is awesome.

It said cormorants and cats whisker were doing well, There was huge amount of fry in the margins which probably explains this? I'm just looking for some guidance!!! Haha

I alwaysused to start on an intermediate line and a damsel nymph or cat's, then when nothing was happening, a sinker and a dancer, never quite needed the booby.
Hopefully the bright sun and easterly winds disappear?

Fished Beecraigs a few weeks ago. Caught my limit in less than 1h30m. Booby did the damage. The fish were not so big but fought well, especially the two Blues that I caught. Enjoyed it so much, I am going back this weekend

Yip, get the booby to the bottom, sure to get success. Good area is behind the island. Tight lines.
