Default gran canaria

may be a long shot but, anyone know if its worth taking my travel rod and a few flies?

planning on going for a couple of weeks this summer and fancy taking my rod if theres any fishing there but i have no idea about fishing over there or what species i can catch, i know theres some lakes up in the mountains so does anybody know what (if anything) is in them?

...otherwise i'll have to settle the fishing bug with some big game fishing.

Apparently the Mullet fishing in the harbours and off rocky areas can be quite good fun, a mate of mine had a great time with them.

Maggoty type patterns like Okay Dokeys, as well as white dear hair patterns like these.......

Stay off the beaches though, even if you are wading, mate got arrested for doing so, not allowed it would appear.

I'm pretty sure there is quite good flyfishing for stocked large mouth bass on reservoirs. I am sure I saw Keith Arthur fishing it on Tightlines (great program and about a year's worth available for free on iTunes )

Access to the water was tricky due to the terrain so might also be worth chucking in a short jigging/spinning rod?

There is some exceptional carp fishing there and most of it guided. If they supply tackle then saves that headache....a pretty civilised way to fish when its 40c
