Default Overpriced?

Hmm, methinks this fellow may be pricing himself out of a sale here......

£2000 for 4x Penn International Fly Reels?

Full Set MINT Conditon Penn International Fly Reels | eBay UK

I saw a brand new mid-sized version in Nassau a month ago for $400.........Maybe I should have bought it

It is for the set of 4 reels. May also have the decimal point in the wrong place and the comma.

The seller seems to be betting on someone being willing to pay over the odds to get the complete set in one shot.

The thing about eBay is the size of the audience. Whatever the item is, there almost always seems to be somebody looking for it. And usually they're willing to pay a lot more than I am for it.

I had a couple of DeWalt cordless drills and the batteries were shot and one charger quit working. I figured I'd throw them up on eBay and maybe get a few bucks for them, after all there's probably somebody out there who dropped his drill off of a ladder and broke it, so he has the battereies and charger already.

I was amazed at the number of watchers and bidders and I ended up getting about twice what I thought I'd get. I clearly stated that they were sold for parts only, not in working order, etc. Whatever.

Aye, some folk on FleaBay must be utter oafs and dullards.

I recall buying a big Loop Salmon reel for X amount on eBay, finding it wasnt totally suitable for what I required, took some far better photos and sold it for double.

I was shocked.

My best, however, was buying 4 fish printed plates for £15 from a Buckinghamshire boot fair and selling them two years later for £250 to a lady in NY (5th Avenue, Dahling!)

As it stands, I do have a Penn 1.5G reel and love it. Wont use it, mind you, just like to look at it from time to time.... I am sad!
