Has anyone had dealing's with a company called Deer Creek .I have found there service is pretty poor still waiting on a delivery thats over 10 days

I gave up on them.

Nice flies, but *extremely* expensive and every order was very late and needed prompting. They did always apologise and send additional flies to make up for it, but frankly I'd have prefferred my origonal order on time.

The Essential Fly or Fliesonline have never let me down!

I ordered nearly £60 worth of flies,as I'm just starting out(i selected and asked them if they were ok for my area)....i waited 3 weeks before they arrived...the first 3 flies i used fell apart,i reported the problem,he said as I'm learning it was probably my casting(even tho one fell apart as i was tying it to my tippet).He then requested for me to send them back to him, as he said, i quote"I need to send them to Sri Lanka to give them a *******ing"..ive refused to send them back on principle...oh well you live and learn!

I was asking for advice on marabou on the fly tying section and a member called arkle advised me to go for Deer Creek, to quote him he said:

"I must declare an interest here as I help this supplier, but the stuff from Deer Creek is really excellent. I also help his supplier, who at the moment doesn't have a website."

I bought some marabou from them and delivery time was poor but the price was very good and when they did come after about 2 weeks they were very good to be fair, a couple of days before he emailed and apologised for the delay and said he had been on holiday. Maybe it would be worth contacting this member, not trying to stir things up but he may be able to advise them and to help solve their issues?

Perhaps i should contact him....the wait didn't really bother me,or the fact that the first fly i used fell apart(I'm pretty laid back).Its the fact that after i first contacted him,there was no prob,apology and we'll send you a replacment..but when i emailed about them other 2 that fell apart,he implied it was my fault and then wanted me to send them back,(45p for a stamp not much to ask.i need them back).....its not the 45p its the principle after spending 60 quid.
they can do one as far as I'm concerned!
