Default leaking Scierra breathable Waders

I have a pair of Scierra Blackwater Pro waders which I purchased on line about a year ago...damned if I can remember where I got them. Anyway, they have a slight leak...I turned them inside-out and filled them in the shower and found the leak coming from the seam between the neoprene foot and the leg section. It doesnt show as a 'point' but rather, the seam material gets progressively wetter and wetter.

Has anyone any suggestions as to if or how this could be repaired?

Is it worth contacting scierra regarding getting a replacement pair or am I screwed in that respect.

I'm a little annoyed as I didn't get much use out of them, and they weren't exactly cheap!

Regards

Dave

Postage costs to Dave from Denmark might be a bit expensive, I would contact Scierra and beg in the first instance, you never know.

No it wont.
leak through neoprene foot is not repairable, is because the neoprene has parted, hence the seam getting "wetter and wetter"
try contacting scierra direct for replacement pair, citing fact that under very light use neoprene sock has parted, therefore is manufacturing problem.

If you do, it will probably void any chance of Scierra swapping them!!
I wouldn't.

Hi Guys,

Just a follow up on the post....

I repaired the waders using 'Aquasure' (many thanks Syphogenic...), just basically used half the tube on the inside, used half the tube on the outside, letting each side dry 24 hrs. There was no special preparation, I simply smeared it along the seams ensuring I covered well beyond where I had seen the leak starting.

Anyway, it worked a charm...spent all last week on Corrib, hopping in and out of a boat and did some wading most days too, and not a drop got in!

Think it cost me all of 7 quid for the aquasure and postage from e-bay, so it was definately money well spent...so thanks again for the tip!

Regards

Dave

PS....I did contact Scierra Denmark, but as expected, without a receipt or proof of where they were purchased, they couldn't do anything...fair enough I suppose.

Good luck long term with it, in my experience the leaks eventually come back through time. What is others experience with aquasure?

Cheers
Kevin
