BOAT FISHING. Continues to provide excellent fish catching opportunities. With the hot spots currently bing Sams Dyke, The Willows and below Stoke Dry being the favourite places. One of the heaviest fish taken during the last fortnight came to Bill Couldrick, with a superb rainbow that weighed 11lb 13oz; 3 day session from Oxfordshire. Bill took the specimen rainbow on a Black Buzzer part of a limit bag weighing 31lb 8oz. Season ticket holder Rob Brookes and Dave Ward of Broughton Astley enjoyed some fantastic boat sport and each took limit bags as well as catch and releasing several other well conditioned trout. Miroslav Krmpotic of Corby took eight fine rainbows on Buzzers while boat fishing at Sams Dyke. Mike Christie of Selkirk boat fished and took his limit on a Black Red Head Buzzer; Mikes eight fish bag totalled 19lb 11oz
BANK FISHING at Eyebrook is superb with many limit bags of trout taken from all points of the fishery. The most successful fishing tactics at the moment are floating lines with Buzzers or Diawl Bach. Mike Harries of Isham bank fished at The Chestnut Tree and took six rainbows for 16lb 10oz during a morning session; Mike took all of his catch on size 12 and 14 Buzzers. Garry Smith of Corby took eight rainbows on Buzzers while bank fishing at the Willows during an evening session.
Fish are taking the fly readily at Eyebrook and we courteously request that all anglers who practice catch and release to do so with great care. May we remind anglers that the fishery has the right to refuse access to those who abuse catch and release policy.
