Default Fishing near Linlithgow

I am hoping to get a days fishing in tomorrow, but, being fairly new to the area, it seems to be a bit of a toss up between Linlithgow Loch or maybe Bowden springs.
I would appreciate any advise on the matter, particuarly as my better half, who is a complete novice is also insisting on coming so value for money is also a big consideration as two tickets will have to be purchased.
As I said at the start of the thread, all advice, tactics, flies, water etc will be very much appreciated.

Depends on wether is bank or boat.
Linlithgow is brill fishery from boat, but not for the inexpierienced from bank, and besides banks will be busy, as is public holiday.
what about Bangour?
3 miles south of linlithgow after beecraigs,on dechmont road, is brill bank fishing and is probably cheaper for c/r than the two you have mentioned.
do a google on bangour see what you think.

Thanks for the reply. Wherever we wind up it will definitely be bank fishing, as, unfortunately, she is a total novice and the thought of being in a boat just now with her fills me with horror.

lots of platforms out into reservoir, no back cast problems.
owner, Steve, is qualified instructor, so you might get lucky!!

Thanks to everybody. We fished Bangour today and she caught a lovely rainbow. Stevie is a top guy, very helpful and it is a fantastic, well run and beautiful fishery.

Thats why it was recommended!
glad you had a good time.
Get yourself up there middle to end of May for evening rise, is phenominal rise some nights to buzzers and midgies!
small black pennel and black spiders on dry or just sub surface work well.

Bowden is a complete dump and last time I went it was full of bubble float flingers....shame as it was once a great wee water

Heard nothing but good reports about Bangour. A bit artificial for my liking...turned up but never even bothered setting up my rod.

Beecraigs is good but hard to get on without prior booking.

Carron Valley or North Third are not that far away as are the Pentland waters.
