I am buying a 6ft 2/3 weight rod for small stream fishing. Can anyone reccomend a reel to go with the rod? And as cheap a reel as possible, as it would only be used to store the line really, as the fish are only around 6 inches long.

One bit of advice might help from experience - I bought an okuma slv in 2/3 wt size to go with my 7ft/3wt rod. I use a 2wt dt line with it, which works great. Unfortunately, the reel only just takes a 2wt dt line and literally a couple of turns of backing.
It appears that reels are rated with wf lines in mind, which have less bulk due to the weight being in the head, with relatively thin running line.
So if using dt's, you may have to go up a size.

Cut the DT in half and you'll have plenty of room
And you wont need any backing for 6" fish.
