Default who makes the best sinking line range

Folks
I need a new sinking fly line to replace my old DI 7 which has started to fall apart.
I have it in addition to a Hi D and the rest of my sinkers are from the Wet Cell range.
Do I ? :
  • Just buy a replacement
  • Buy from a different manufacturer ?
  • If so which company makes the most comprehensive range of sinkers ?

The Airflo sinkers seem to have a good range but what do they fish / last like.
Has the memory problem finally been solved.

If its an old topic just point me at the old thread, otherwise your thoughts would be welcome.

I like Scientific Anglers lines, Weather or not they are the best is a matter of personal preference, but they are my favorite. i have never been dissapointed by a Sci Anglers line.

Another vote from me for the Airflow sinkers. The only thing they do really well IMO. Still stay clear if their floaters, though I hear they've improved too.

Yep, Airflo sinkers are, and always have been, very good - no problems with memory as the lines are made differently.

Smile Re: who makes the best sinking line range

Folks
Thanks for the views so far on the sinking line topic.
I have been a fan of Scientific Anglers from some years ago, always carried two floaters and two very fast sinkers coz being a competetive boat angler I had seen too many chopped by the motor.
Careless or games man ship by the opposition on the motor ? Who knows
Anyway I find during the course of a seasion that the floater and very fast sink ( Hi D / Di 7 ) get most work and thus need regular replacement.
The Slime line or Intermediate is next most used.
The Wet 1 / 2 / 3 only get the occasional outings and some are now 15 years old and nearly mint.

The Airflo sinkers were shocking ( IMO ) 15 years ago , hence my question about the memory and possible faults of current day product.

Tackle / lines must have altered in the 15 years that I have been working my socks off , sod work I'm going to get back fishing !

Yes all lines fall apart if used enough but I want your opinions on who makes the best range of sinking fly lines.
Do Airflo lines realy sink at the advertised rates ?
Do they really connect better to takes than say the Scientific range ?

No contest - Airflow make the BEST and most versatile range of sinking lines on the market t'day, not to mention the mini tip and floater. They had a problem with the latter two up until a couple of years back but now have finally got their act together. Most are fully aware of the sinkers but the latest ridge, super supple mini tip and floater are the dogs bo**ocks. No more memory, they lie in a straight line! All this coupled with a 5 year none crack warrenty - what more do you want.
