Default Angling history

I'm working on a project and need to make contact with someone who has a knowledge of Fly Fishing history. In particular anyone with knowledge on the great figures (Skues, Halford etc) and their preferred stalking grounds.

If you know of anyone or can help please drop me a line.

Thanks

A coulple of books you may find helpful:

Tony Hayter's excellent 'F M Halford and the dry fly revolution' and 'The essential G.E.M. Skues' by Kenneth Robson.

Another book is 'Gentlemen Preferred Dry Flies' by William C Black. This covers both British and American anglers. A few faults but very enjoyable.

You could try the Flyfishers club LINK Many of these old boys were members. (and I see you're in London)
If you join, or beg nicely, they may allow you to use their library - see the website.

Good luck
Brian

I have various books relating to the history & development of flyfishing in the UK. If you get stuck feel free to give me a shout.
