Default rod license question

Can I use a fly rod if I'm after trout on a commercial lake if I just have a trout and coarse license. I'm new to fly fishing so I don't want to break the law.

many thanks

speci

A trout and coarse license (Says on it "non-migratory") covers most of the fishing in the UK.
The only time you need the more expensive "migratory fish" license is to fish for wild salmon and sea trout.
Some commercial waters these days do stock with landlocked salmon, as these fish are not wild and do not migrate, they are covered on the non migratory (coarse and trout) license.
Also, you can still fish in waters that hold salmon and sea trout with a non migratory license providing you are not specifically targetting those fish (ie, you are fishing the river for brown trout).

Basically, unless you are trying to catch salmon and sea trout, your license is fine.
