I take mine home but you could do what some anglers do here just run it out along the bank and leave it for some poor sod to pick up, obviously bait or spinning guysas this was near enough 20lb line, a diver doing a survey for our club in a loch collected a bin liner full of mono, rusty spinners, and bust bubble floats ,this was in one small area , sheesh! easker1

Get yourself an empty film canister, cut a cross in the top, and just push your line in there until you get home.
Failing that for about £5 get a mono master just google it, they work well.
PM Ian, Grommit on here he sells them.

Great thread.

What's wrong with throwing line into a bin?

If I have quite a long piece (a foot or 2) I wrap it around my hand then tie it into a knot then put it into the bin.

What I do is wind it into a Monomaster then cut it up into a bin when I get home

Works pretty good as long as you remember to empty the thing otherwise it jams up and your back to square one festooned with unwanted tippet!

I tend to carry a small drink tin in my bag. Put the cut up line in it. Flatten and throw away at home when full.

Monomaster all the way, Boys!!

Clips to your waisty or troosers and very easy to use.

No excuse leaving it on the bank or, as some filthy beggars do, wind it around the anchor on the Hanningfield boats

Have seen far too many water fowl with nylon around their legs.

I use one of the small pringles tubes. Tape the lid on securely and cut a X in the lid. Just sits in my bag and lasts me all season and I dispose of it all at once. Either burning it if I have a bonfire, or cutting into <2inch pieces and binning it.
