Default May Fly Season 2011 Early???

Hello it is just a thought to all fly fishers waiting for the cream of may fly time on our beautifull rivers and lakes where ever you fish. with our weather pattern at this time very early with this hot weather , a farmer here busy picking asparagus at least 2 weeks early. tonight i have seen mayfly hatch on the Thames. i am sure the mayfly on our rivers etc maybe early too. So for all us fishers who enjoy this part of the trout season i would say keep ahead of where your fishing and if your travelling or booking a holiday in mayfly season a look on the internet or phone might pay dividends. its just a thought if i am wrong feel free to say!! but i have seen over 40 years of trout seasons and all different as we know, some years good others not so. anyway happy fishing.

I've noticed many fly hatches have come on early due to the March and April dry, warm, weather.

Plenty of Mayfly hatching on the Dorset Stour this weekend.
This river is always the earliest in the area and it`s usually around the end of the month I see the first so I would say they are a good few days early.

fished my local water yesterday and caught a few trout, one particular fish of about 2lb was stuffed with mayfly nymph, could well mean a early hatch of the beautiful large olives on the river,

roll on the spent gnat..........
