would a greys grxi #7/8 with an #8 line be ok to take pike might be going pike fishing next weekend.

They're out of season, although the coarse closed season seems to have become blurred in recent years. You might want to double check with the fishery.

Ah, that may be different? I don't think there is a closed season in Scotland for coarse fish but may be worth double checking.

Most canals and stillwaters in England and Wales have no close season for coarse fish. It's been like this for some years now
I can't say I agree with it and I wouldn't want to fish for pike in April but thats the way it is.

Scotland has no coarse fish close season so your (idiot) guys will have no problem.

Been piking quite a bit this season (not necessarily that effectively). We caught a few double figure fish a couple of weekends back and they were clearnly spawned out...and that was on a very large deep loch.

I had this little fella using a 6# Sage SP last week (on a trout water)so I'm sure your outfit will be well able to cope.
