Default wullf ambush lines...........

Hi, i bought a wullf ambush line, last year in trout magazine paul proctor wrote up on it as "a line in a class of its own" so i shelled out the 60 odd quid for the line, as advised in the article i went a weight lighter.
i have a greys g tec 8 wt so bought a 7wt.
i find this line horrible to use, maybe im doing something wrong?
i know its got a heavy shooting head on it but it feels like im swinging a metal chain from my rod, also presentation is terrible, where the line thins down into its running part this seems to coil upand when shooting line it just hits the eyes and stops.
maybe its just a sh1t line?? but after the write up and the price tag i feel as though it may be just me.............
to make it worse i went out like an idiot and bought a 6wt aswell to see if it was better..............but not!!
all in all im £120 down on lines i cant seem to use, wish i just stuck to my cortlands......

Why did you drop down to a 6 weight for an 8 weight rod? Try using the 7 weight line on the 7 weight rod.
If the running line is tangling then give it a good stretch. One of the old Cortland lines needed a stretch before using it for the first time

i bought a 6 wt because the 7wt was that heavy even on the 8wt rod, ive gave the lines a good stretching aswell, for a shooting head i can cast my cortlands alot further than these with less hassle. these ambush lines just seem to be so heavy on the shooting head part, they feel like they are putting my rod under immense pressure.

Try keeping a bit more of the head inside top three rings before shooting, and as Chris said stretch the running line to get rid of coils.
line is very heavy to front of head for rating, towards the upper end of aftm rating.
scroll down on this link ar look at casting technigue.

Try a Rio Outbound Short. Great line for tight spots.
