Had to be at least 25 years back but Winter Steelhead fishing (with one of the first -only? - 2-handers) on the Russian River in Northern California. Very cold morning with water temp many degrees over air temp. Steam, fog, what-ever coming up off the river. Total Magic to be there.
Fellow walks up behind me on the beach and 'Yahoo's me.' Turns out he's a professional photographer and asks if he could use the photo he'd just taken off a bridge a hundred yards (give or take) up stream of me.
Why not, so I signed a 'release.'
Saw the picture a few months later on a 'Post Card' of all things ... it was a classic, almost sur-real (no idea how to spell that word

) in content/context. Bye the bye, if you didn't know it was 'you' you'd never know.
But a magic photo none the less.
