Default I think I've been conned,....

Do Snowbee lines come with a bottle of line dressing free?
"Cos I went to local tackle shop for some Loon Line dressing, or similar and they had none, the assistant asked his colleague and he got a new Snowbee line out and removed a bottle from the middle and said, "There you go.",.....I said,.."Cheers,...",......He said, "...That'll be £4.99"....

Always had a freebie bottle with the Snowbee floaters I've bought. Contact Snowbee to clarify it, I would.

Best Regards

Stuart

That's a bit of a **** take but I suppose they will say it's not free as such, and that the line price includes the bottle. However, someone won't be getting the bottle and will no doubt still pay full price!

or the dealer will replace the bottle that was taken out of the box with the new line, hence the charge.

Hello why dont you name the shop, this is realy difficult, they did not want to disapoint you by their action, but would they replace for the next customer. if it is free with the line do snowbee have it as a seperate item that can be purchased?. anyway you would think a fly fishing shop would have in stock as a beginning of season item.

Hi mate,...I'm loathe to name the shop, as it's the only shop local to me.
A bit over-priced, but useful in emergencies and if they read this I may be cutting off my nose to spite my face.
maybe I'm being a bit "precious',...but I get the feeling I've been charged a fiver for what is essentially a freebie.
As you say, the fact that this tackle shop, that has a branch at another fishery doesn't appear to keep a stock of basics, says a lot about them.

Surely you aren't naiive enough to believe that the line slick is a freebie??

It is built into the price of the line. You may have noticed that they don't just have them on the counter with a "help yourself sign".

Rather than asking "have I been conned", perhaps you should be asking "have I just received good customer service"?

A lot of shops would just say - "none left - call back next week" costiing you another trip.

Also, why assume the worst and think that they won't replace it in the line package? Believe it or not, a lot of shop keepers are not actually rogues.....

What a distrusting, persecuted lot we are

I can only 'speak' for my side of the Pond, but if there was a packaging error the Retailer will pull a comparable product off the shelf and hand same to the customer (he'd be dumb as a stump if he didn't). Next is a call to the supplier, quick conversation on 'what happened' and his next order would have a 'credit' against his billing.

And why not? Customers happy and a continuing client, the Shop owners a happy and continuing client, and ....

No one in their right mind would argue over five bucks. Assuming they wanted to stay in business. Which right now (fly shops) is problematical at best. Just learned today that one (actually more than one location) of our oldest/most respected shops in the PNW have closed all their locations.

Key in door and walk away?
