Default Beware when buying rod license's

I've just seen that fishingrodlicense.com are overcharging by £14.00 for an unnecessary "check in their application" so ONLY buy your license direct from the environment agency website/Post office or other clearly authorized outlets. Info sourced through The Angling Trust.

That is correct.
I only became aware today when my 2 clients from the hotel requested rod licence's, when i went on-line at the hotel the site appeared on top of page 1 on google, an inexperienced fisherman could easily make a mistake,in fact it might put some off buying a licence.
Hopefully trading standards will take this on and stop it, if they can that is?
Cheers
Richard

Similar scam sites have been running for a while now, one in particular charged a fee for making an application for an E111 (an EU medical card), which is free.
Site is still up and probably technically legal as it is simply offering a service to buy a license for you, it does also say at the bottom that you can buy direct from a Post Office.
No excuse however for a cynical attempt to trick the unsuspecting.

I recently bought mine at the post office (the lady said it'll take around a month) after looking to do it online. I saw said website after doing a google search and thought it was a scam altogether after briefly looking at it. Cheeky b*****ds aren't they?

You should've had an e-mail receipt as well? There was a delay sending them out last year as well but it doesn't matter so long as you have a receipt/ref no/proof of purchase. Even if you don't it will be on EA records if you got challenged.
