Default 8foot 6 cane rod

I've had this cane rod for around 20years, it previously belonged to my uncle, on it is marked "Octopus ESS", and the words "Black Arrow" with an arrow through the words, the rest of it is pretty worn off Made in ...... land, (it was in that condition when i was given it). I used to get some odd looks when i used it at our local fishing club (Antermony) when i last used it 15years ago.

I always assumed it was an Edgar sealey rod, but i'm not sure, perhaps some of you guru's can tell me if i'm right or not, and maybe even some history on the rod, a date would be nice, i loved fishing with it so thought i'd bring it out of retirement, give it some new whippings and so on.

Thanks in advance
Jim

It is almost certainly an Edgar Sealey rod made in Redditch, England.

Cannot tell you more as all my Edgar Sealey rods are for coarse fishing.
