Default Which tapered leader?

Using a #6 line with a welded loop, which tapered leader, ie 2x/6x, to finish with a 6lb tippet should I be looking at using?

Also, how should I attach it to the fly line? I would normally use a perfection loop on my leader but have been using very simple leaders up until now, say 8/10lb butt down to 6lb tippet, so the leader is quite flexible and the loop quite easy to tie but with my minimal experience with tapered loops the butt is quite thick so makes a bulky knot.

Have seen these on ebay: NEW MUCILIN TAPERED FLY LEADER 6LB X 1 FLY FISHING | eBay UK along the right lines?

Thanks for your thoughts or advice

Mark

Hi, i would keep making up your own leaders. That way you can make them up to suit your style of fishing that your going to do, & it's a lot cheaper as well.

I have aways used tapererd permanent leaders; originally brainded, then poly leaders and this season I will be tyrying furled leaders.

These are about 6ft long onto which I attach a straight length of leader material, either with or without droppers.

The only time I have ever fished tapered leaders propoer is for single upstream dries. Rest of the time my set up does just fine and no issue with turnover or tangles.

If you are using droppers, the spacing of the droppers makes as much difference as whether or not the main length of leader is tapered.
