Say what now? 12ft single hander? Maybe a tenkara rod will suit?
All the best.

You'll need wrists like Popeye...

Try Guideline, Loop or Beulah switch rods.

Orvis Access switch good rods too.

12ft single handers I don't think are available.

Unless you want to be registered as disabled in a few years......

I assume this is for loch style for salmon and sea trout?

I haven't seen a 12ft single hander for some years now - you might want to try a light double hander. I tried a 12ft 6 LPXE 7/8 for single handed speys on Sunday and it was great but I wouldn't want to use it for single handed long casting all day but it would be fine for over the front loch style - the long handle braced against your forearm makes it feel lighter.

Alternatively you could get a double handed lightweight blank from Bob Meiser in the US (he does them with very light line ratings) and have it made up here by a builder to your specification.

The biggest single handed rod i use is my Hardy Vicount which is 10.5 ft #7. It's a great rod for loch & boat fishing. I had for sale on here.

What you want then is a dapping rod. The Fishing Mega store sell a dapping kit. If you've never fished this way, give it a go you'll have some great takes. What length of rod are you using just now?

I know that Daiwa do an 11 foot 3 inch 7/8 weight. It's in their Wilderness XT range. That's the longest regular single hander that I've seen. You know when you've been fishing with it all day!

Finuge pay no attention to all these limp wristed tackle tarts with their airy fairy light weight piddly little short modern rods. What would any of them do if they went back to the days of glass fibre let alone cane! You don't need to eat spinnage to use a 12' single hander

That said there aren't many options for a 12' single hander, it might be worth hunting around for something second hand.
I have a #8/9 12' Diawa sea trout special from some years ago, it is fine as a spate river salmon rod but way to stiff for sea trout. I also have a 12' Hardy blank bulit as a single hander but this, like many older Hardys, is very soft.
Enigma/Fishtec used to do a #7 12' single hander.
Marcus Warwick (not sure he is still trading, last seen in Axminster) used to sell the Charles Mclaren 12' sea trout rod either in a #5 or #7.

Get googling
