Default lost flies

I was fishing the Annan at Hoddom on Sunday and lost my box of trout flies, ( black box )they may have fallen into the water as I fished until dark, so could be anywhere down stream,

reward for return

John

hopefully you get them back mate.
i dont know if you tie them your self or bought them , but either way it is a lot of money to lose or can be.

i personalise my boxes , well my wooden boxes . i got brass plaques engraved with my name , personal details on and bought a pewter brooch of brown trout and epoxied them onto the lids of the boxes just in case the worse was to happen.

How posh with brass plaques, I just take a soldering iron to the plastic and burn it in

if ,like me you tie all your own flies it is not the monetary value of the flies but all the hours of tying that went into them to say nothing of all those precious favorites .Last week at Blagdon i thought i had lost one of my fly boxes. When i went back to my van several hours later i found it on the floor-the relief was immense, hopefully i will look after my "babies" better in the future

all the best Nick

Having dropped a box before and fortunately getting it back I now write my name and address on all my boxes in permanent marker. Makes them less saleable should they be stolen too. I'd hate to loose any of my boxes too much time and effort has gone into them. Hope you get yours back

The same thing happend to me years ago on the Annan.
I dropped a leather fly wallet which floated down on to the deep end of the run, floated for a while.
By the time i got near it, reaching out over deep water it slowly went down like the bismark.
It was gone for ever
