Default Scientific anglers floating wf #7 line..

Yesterday I had a great days fishing at frensham, I landed 3 rainbows (lost many more) one was pregnant and weighed 4ib 8 oz's which was a nice size for that location, only marred by one thing which was my line. I noticed that the first 20 yards of line which goes out when casting was a lot thinner than the rest of the line which would only get used when a trout goes for a long run. It's a relatively new line only been used on around 5 occasions. Surely it shouldn't have worn out in that amount of time? Could it be aggressive casting or are scientific anglers lines rubbish? I don't know the brand I.d but it's a lime green colour.

So I'm looking to get some new line any recommendations on a good line that's under £25?

Thanks,
Charlie

Er, did you put the line on the wrong way? Lines don't wear out!
If it is a lot thinner then it sounds like the running line. Strip the line off and check it is on the right way.

Incidentally, trout don't get pregnant as such. They carry eggs and then lay them. The male trout then comes along and mixes his love juices with the eggs and baby trout are thus born!

As Chris says, it sounds like you possibly have the line on back to front. It should be thinner running line, leading to a heavier head.

Taxi for one please : ) what a doughnut!!! That must be the case. This would also explain why I'm having troubles casting?

Pregnant, full of eggs- same thing!!
