Default needle knot

Aye up.
I am after a bit of advice please.
After using braided leader loops I have decided to tie a needle knot on my 7WF floating line I practiced it alot and finally got it spot on.
What I want to know is:

1. The instructions state 3 turns when tying round your line. Does anyone use more turns?

2. Whet size line is the norm for your butt section. Is 12lb ok?

I feel I must add that I have only been using straight through mono tied directly to a braided loop up until now but now that I am pretty confident with my casting........ ish I think it is time to start thinking about better presentation.

Thanks
Andy

Thanks for that.
What would you suggest to step down with on the rest of the leader?
Also with which knots??

8 turns is my maximum, I usually do 6. 22lbs BS is right for anything over a #2 line. You can find out more here.

Point taken, but i don't agree with the comment about braided loops.I use Roman Moser minicons for my stillwater lines,if you fit them correctly they don't come off hinge or create spray. But all that has been covered before,so no need for us to get into that one
