Fly_Mo is on a distinguished road
Default Llyn Crafnant, near Betws-Y-Coed

Hi

I fished Llyn Crafnant last weekend. had no luck and the only other two anglers also blanked. Anyone fished this lake and what are your thoughts?

I was surprised no local anglers were there. Also the lady whom I bought my ticket from went on the defensive about anglers blaming everything if the don't catch. I didn't complain or blame anyone and told her so. Was I conned in fishing the lake?

Mo

See this for Google Earth map etc: Llyn Crafnant, Conwy

Deep, moody, and very cold. Way way too early in the year.

Rare fish on verge of extinction sets up new home in Conwy Valley - North Wales News - News - Daily Post North Wales

A BACK-UP population of a rare fish under threat of extinction has been released into a North Wales lake.

About 800 young arctic charr, a species which can only be found in a few deep, cold lakes across the region, are now swimming in Llyn Crafnant in the Conwy Valley, thanks to Environment Agency Wales.

The charr released into Llyn Crafnant were hatched and raised from eggs collected at Llyn Padarn in December last year. They have been cared for at the Mawddach Hatchery, near Dolgellau, for the past 11 months.
Mr Edwell has thanked estate managers Carter Jones, lake owners Crafnant Trust and fishery owners Anne and Joe Collins for offering the baby charr a new home.
