Default Wild trout fishing, lake district

Does anyone have any info into cheap/free fishing in the lake district where we can walk and camp near lakes etc? Are there areas of small lakes that are free to fish (I know a lot of the bigger lakes have free fishing, but looking for something more remote). Thanks

There's a campsite at Side Farm, southern - Glenridding - end of Ullswater.

I'm really interested in fishing those Tarns. My friend wants to come with me but he isn't a fly fisherman, would spinning be ok up there?

Soon remedied - Shakey 9ft 6 #7 circa £25

Lend him some flies etc, he'll be throwing a line within the hour.

(seriously some if not many tarns are fly only - best check first).
