Default Baitboats

Evening All

Just read my Farmoor rules and there's nowt in there about using baitboats to take your flies out.

Just wondering how anglers would feel if another angler turn up with one.

There's probably nothing in farmoor about it because they feel that they don't need to mention such a ridiculous idea. They also probably don't mention not being allowed to throw rocks at other anglers who catch more fish.

There's probably nothing in about fishing with dynamite.

If you're really a fly fisherman stick to the finer principles of this noble art.

Default Baitboats

Hi Rich.
You could launch the boat with an action man at the helm, or a barbie if that's your thing and use it as an indicator. When your manned launch tips when you get an offer your crew will fall in. But is that "BUNG" fishing, you won't be very popular. Also there is a health and safety issue here. remember the life jacket for your little crew mate.

Come on now surely we have to draw the line somewhere, bite alarms maybe but bait boats are just getting silly.

Forgive my ignorance (or, by the sound of things, commend it) but what on earth are baitboats?! ...

... Well, I remembered Google and took the initiative...

Oh sweet lord.

But I rather suspect from the whistling smiley that Rich is taking the micky.

Who needs bait boats at Farmoor? All you have to do is wait until some idiot sailboarder grounds himself in front of you, and instead of smacking him round the ear which you should do for disturbing your sport, you ask him to tow your flies out 100 yards when he sets sail again.

Genius! Boat anglers take note: want to make friends with bankies? Next time you drift into ankle deep water across our casts, just offer to take our flies out with you when you go.... everyone wins

It's all so obvious now...
