Default River Aire

“River Aire Trust"

The Aire is one of the few rivers without a group to look after it!! There is an open meeting on Wednesday 27th. April at 7.30 in Shipley Library (between the market and Asda) to discuss the establisment of a trust. The speakers will include the EA and Association of Rivers Trust. If you care about the Aire then please attend and make your views known.”

Regards

Dave

Now that is one river that EVERYONE uses catch and release on. Wouldn't feed my worst enemy a fish from there.

I don;t think having Bradford Beck flowing into it helps when there are signs about 200yrds from the joing to the Aire stating "Warning: Contaminated water". Nice. Then there is the traveller's camp that seem to use it as a landfill, idiots using human remains as ground bait and so many businesses and retail parks along it's banks that anytime it floods all of their packaging waste gets washed down stream and stuck in the trees making it look like some Buddist prayer trail with all of the mutlicoloured waste flags blowing in the branches.

If I can make I'll be there as I am only a stone's throw away from the library.
