No, as long as its not in straw fields, but football fields, lawn type you will be fine.use a piece of wool on the end of leader instead og a fly.

Again I'm gonna have to ask why,as long as the grass is short enough ie football pitch what harm can it do?

Eh how?

please explain.

if it does then anyone taking any qualification s or being taught on grass etc ,should ask for compensation or refuse to be taught if this is the case when using their own lines.

There are stones and all manner of things on Grass. The Lines are designed to cast on water Trust me prolonged use on Grass damages lines beyond repair.
I will post one up that I use and you will see for yourself. Try It.
Re compensation..................Learn to live with it.

I keep a line for casting on grass and it turns green and cracks at the tip within a very short time

I have used one on grass for quite a long time and it has been fine, note when i said like a football filed or lawn not a gravel bed grass area with loads of stones.heavy to mow and even breaks lawnmowers and blunts blades so would damage a line aswell.
Use an old line for practice rather than you new ish lines if in any doubt.

Live with it,well should I ever go for any qualification and its on grass I will remember this thread,im sure.
