Default Friday fishing tips...

I'm off fishing on Friday to robinswood in frensham Surrey. I'm pretty rubbish tbh and quite new. Last time I caught one in about 5 hours : / ...has anyone got any tips that might help? (cue sarcy/funny comments!) like what patterns to use this time of year?

Floating line, fourteen foot leeder with either black skinny buzzers, or Diawl Bachs.Cast them out and bring them in slowly. Takes will be gentle as a rule.

Ok thanks! I've never used a 14 foot leader (usually 9 foot) I will try that. I've also never fished with more than one fly I'm gonna attempt that too. Ill probably end up in a big tangle but it'll be a learning curve

Default Friday fishing tips

i had trouble casting 2 or 3 flies kept on tangling up .
was advised to angle the rod over a bit so as to keep the top and bottom of loop and flies away from each other.
put larger/heaver fly on point and scale down the next 2. 6 to 8 in droppers equal spacing between droppers works for me.
BUT I DONT KNOW IT ITS RIGHT.lol
dont try for distance till you get the hang of it but it DOES WORK.
TIGHT LINES.

If you are new then stick with a 10 foot leader or you will spend your whole day untangling the leader.

Don't plug away all day in the same spot and with the same flies if you're not getting any fish. Try different depths and different flies and if you have no success then pick a new spot.

Think about where the fish will be - if there is a wind that has been blowing in a particular direction for a day or two then the odds are that the fish will follow the wind as that is where the food will be blown.

Fly choice on a place like Frensham will primarily be lures and nymphs. Try damsels, montanas, buzzers, GRHE etc.
