Wessex Flyfishing near Tolpuddle is well worth a look for still-water fishing,
Dorset Trout Lake Fly Fishing
plus they are also able to offer a number of river beats locally

Hope that helps

Aidan

Sutton Bingham reservoir is about 25 miles from Bere Regis, and will be fishing well at this time of year.

Default Shops

Nearest I can think of is Conyers in Blandford which is approximately 20 minute drive but it is not solely a fly fishing shop. The nearest specialist shop is Orvis in Stockbridge,Hampshire which is approx 40 miles from Bere Regis. Here you can gaze at the hallowed river test and the lovely browns just outside the Orvis shop next to the gallows

Bere Regis is a nice spot and very close to some good quality fishing.Rivers 3/4wt and small stillwaters your choice.5wt is plenty.Good luck.

Best JP

Davis Tackle in Christchurch is about 25 miles from Bere Regis. Again it's a mixed store covering all 3 disciplines, but they do have a reasonable stock of game fishing tackle.

Depends on what you mean by "in this area", really.

Drive up the A31 / M3 to Southampton and Winchester and Avington, Holbury and Woodington would be available, but it's about 45 miles each way.

I believe there's another small and not greatly publicised small fishery in the Weymouth or Lyme Regis area, too...never tried it and I can't remember its name, sorry.

It's Amherst Lodge near Lyme Regis. take your satnav - you'll need it!
I fished it last year in June and did well on a 'too early (according to the regulars) crane fly'. I fished the first pool as plenty were rising.
It's a series of small pools but appeared to be well stocked.
Pay in a box - nobody around, only two other anglers.
