Default dont go to craigluscar trout fishery

Hi
i was at craigluscar last wedensday and got the £12 catch 2 and release 2 ticket and the fishing was good and i had 2 fish within 1 hour and was onto releasing them when one of the baliffs came round and asked me how many fish i had, i told him the truth which was 2 and he accused me of catching and releasing more than my 2 fish. i told him i hadnt caught anymore and i was telling the truth and he started shouting and swaring at me calling me all sorts including the f word and much more which i wont repeat but you get the idea he was compleatly out of order and i am only 16 and this is how they treat the visiting anglers who pay for the fishing and encourage young people to take up the sport, because of this i wont be going back and would also encourge none of you to go as this is no way to treat the visiting anglers that pay for the Dunfermline Artisan A.C. members fishing. Also loch glow is much better.
regards,
Tom

I would think you would be better speaking to the committee/managers first before coming on here.
If one man is out of order then have that dealt with. Asking people to boycott a fishery is not they way to go.

Seems funny that you bad mouth one fishery then sing the praises of another????
Why did you not go to the "better" fishery in the first place?

Dont get me wrong if you are 100% with what you say then you deserve an apology.

was he a proper bailiffe or just another member?

Bailiffes and rangers i have met do not get aggresive, (but they will make sure you abide by the rules), if you have paid to fish, as it could lead them to a bath in the pond...lol

I would not go back after that abuse, and i think an appologie from the person in question and the club committee

I agree with maharg you should not ask people to boycott a fishery because of one persons behaviour.

Sorry you had a bad day.

Always a better one tomorrow

To be fair, he did say the fishing was good.
Seems his grievance is with the bailiff.
I'm guessing they've maybe had some bother with neds during the school holidays and have maybe become wary of younger anglers.
I know from another post that nearby Heatheryford has had a few youngsters being a nuisance recently drinking and generally being a pain in the @rse.

hello seems you are in the right maybe he was having a bad day, you at 16 are grown up enough to whats right and wrong, so as you say you did abide by the rules. first write a letter and explain everything that happened ie time date fishing place fishing permit persons name etc. copy letter with witness send to office and see what happens in reply.

You have every right to be upset. It would seem to me that he assumed because you're young that it means that he could treat you that way. Would he have spoken to an adult in that manner. Perhaps he has a 16 year old son who is a lieing little gobshit

You should write to the fishery and tell them what happened and in the interest of fairness please post their response to your complaint.

Regards,

Ray.

I agree, this is age discrimination and shouldn't be happening in my book, its a step away from bullying tactics and just isn't on. No way should this fishery be avoided, the matter should be dealt with and nipped in the bud by the fishery managers and I hope the person involved wasn't one of them or they have alot to learn in etiquette and the treatment of paying anglers, whatever their age.

For your letter.

The other alternative is to take an adult up to the hut with you and have it out with the baliff. It's not fair if he was trying to intimidate you as it's unlikely he would have acted this way with an adult. I've got my younger brother into fishing, and it took some cajoling, i'm sure if someone spoke to him like that it would dent his confidence and put him right off, It's not really on to be acting like that.

Best thing to do to make sure you aren't treated like some chavvy Bucky drinking lout is in my experience is to go the hut and make sure you ask the knowledgeable questions, eg what type of flies, line density, should I use droppers etc. Make yourself sound like an angler at the start and you should have no bother.
