What is the best place to get tapered leaders from and what are the better ones

You can buy them from most on line retailers. As for which are best, you'll get a lot of opinions on this. When I use tapered leaders, I use Orvis, but that it not often these days as I use furled leaders for the majority of my fishing.

Make your own. Yesterday was the first time I used a tapered leader I made copying the video below. Tricky to get right but after a couple of tries I made a decent 5' one with 6lb mono. Truned a pair of bumbles over no problem and a size 10 daddy fished dry.

I used to use a lot of Orvis leaders and still do for swff but for river fishing i now use Varivas leaders almost exclusively.
