the lake i fish has some really nice perch, some people dont like catching them, but id rather have a 1ib perch than a 3lb stockie!!

i found then like olive damsels and i also tie a brown version with a pearl braid throat which they go mad for!!

all time best, 2.5lb perch(must admit was float fishing!!!! june 16th, river tees)

My mate hooked a rather well endowed lady on his back cast right in the tit.
My offer to suck the poison out did not go down well

As for fish, brownies, bows, salmon, seatrout, brookies, charr, perch ,pike, and a couple of minnows

Hello Bill.
Surprising what you can catch on buzzers, damsel nymphs and black gnats.
As for slumming it, it's all we got round here.

Crayfish, mussel, traffic cone, umbrella and terrapin.

Also twice foul hooked absolutely monster bream in Grafham water. Easily near the 7lb mark - so large around that wouldn't fit in my net. Like fighting a dustbin lid. Both times on slow retrieved Shipman's buzzer, so wonder if they did actually go for the fly, rejected it at the last moment, and then it snagged on the huge hump as they went past.

I've had Perch, Roach, Chub, Mirror Carp, Common Carp and even a small tench whilst after trout. At the end of the day, these fish all eat the same natural food so it shouldn't be a surprise to catch them if they are present in the water you are fishing.

I'm told that Langley Dam used to be The Northumbrian Anglers Federation's coarse fishing lake, hence the perch. Apparently there are still some big old carp still knocking about in there as well.
