Default Wader Studs

Hello all i bought a couple of packs of Snowbee Wader studs from Grommit a while back.I screwed some into a new pair of rubber soled waders with a little waterproof glue.Used the waders for the first time today & almost all the studs fell out.Have i done something wrong or are the studs ****..The Studs threads look fairly short would this be the problem possibly.Cheers

Unlikely
is probably the composition of sole material. Not solid enough to keep thread of studs intact.
Friable man made composite soles(can look like rubber) can suffer from this problem.
only way to be sure is to get set of studs for felt boots, simms or simillar, and try them, but my guess is the material of sole wont accept studs.
will probably be a warning re same on labels of waders when purchased
regards
bert

Get a look at the type of stud they use.
Will probably have more elongated and wider thread than standard studs if my thoughts are correct.

I have a pair of felt soled boots that did not have studs. Went to hardware store, purchased a package of 3/8" sheet metal screws and screwed them straight into the soles. Works great no problems and all for $1.

Is common practice here too.
but rabs problem aint studs in felt.
is studs in composite sole, that doesnt hold thread.

OK, sorry my bad. I don't know composite sole. Most of the boots I see have an inch of "sole" material figured it was all pretty much the same. Simms sells the same studs, just black for $20

Hello all got an Email from the company that make the waders. They use car tyre studs fitted by using compressed air.To send them back would be pricey with studs & postage both ways.I am thinking about buying a pair of these or similar. Stillwater Boot Chain – Glasgow Angling Centre Anyone know if wading boot chains give good grip & if they are durable.Cheers
