Default Loch of Harray

Hi folks,

My friend is fishing there in the Summer, I think around June.
Are there any local flies he should be tying now or methods he should be practising ?

Cheers,

Me

Get Stan Headley's paperback''The new Trout fishing guide to Orkney'' everything you will need to know.
The Orkney tourist office should have them
Kirkwall 01856872856
Stromness 01856850716

The Orkney Trout Fishing Association web site is always up to date and has a fly gallery which will give you some pointers,

We used to fish Orkney every year in June staying at he Merkester Hotel, The olive was the killer pattern then, but in years things change. I remember fishing Joseys bay once (i think it was called that) on Harray with 3 pheasant tail nymphs from the bank and had a fantastic afternoon there catching fish up to a 1lb quater great fun. Also i fished Harray at around 1 am from the boat and again had some cracking fish.
