Default Heatheryford/Kinross trout fishery today....

......$hite!

I'd better elaborate

I met up with James (James1983) today at the fishery; a nice bright morning and a relatively soft wind (which picked up later).
I had a few knocks before landing a nice 2lber on a red holo diawl bach after about 45mins of fishing; a few more offers just below the surface but no more fish; a pretty poor day to be honest.
James had a few offers himself but no firm takes; I left him to it and headed home a wee bit early.
Fish are starting to come up all the same, another few weeks and the buzzers would be worth a go.

Having seen a couple of "Yoofs" landing a few, James asked one of them what he was using and was promptly told to F*** Off!
He then explained to me the same to scrotes were there last season with their "*****es", all drinking buckie and generally making an ass of themselves.

If this is the type of clientèle this fishery is attracting, I think I'll give it a miss, drive another 1/2 mile up the road and fish the more reserved Easter Balado (owned by the same guy who has Heatheryford, Ken).

I've offered James a trip to Glenfarg soon as he does not have his own transport and he's offered to take me out on the loch, can't say fairer than that.

So, it's no more Heatheryford for me again, poor fishing and chav's don't do it for me.

the younger 2 weren't drinking last year when i was up , it was there mates who showed up lol. but i did try talking to one of the younger ones today as they walked passed and all i heard was f off so dont know if it was directed at me or not.

as for the other who caught a fish and him swearing i bet now that it was due to the birds nest he had on the end of his rod and was trying to deal with it lol. but still would have been nice to have at least spoken or even a hi would have done from the other 2 lol.

still you get bad apples every where mate , and i was using today as more of a "" get back into the swing of things ""

this was the first time i have been able to use 1 leader for an entire day ( well 4 hours i was there ) and had no wind nots not even when the wind picked up. i tried suspending a buzzer under a Chernobyl ant and soon got bored with this method and went back to a duo of buzzers and let them drift.

i had fish rising all around me at one point and right close in to the edges.

but still enjoyed my day and was good to meet up

went up around 4pm yesterday. despite the almost flat calm and drizzly conditions plenty of fish were showing all over the water and were ready to be had.

i hung a few buzzer out on the washing line which resulted in 4 rainbows being taken to hand and released.

3 of the 4 were taken on black and green and 1 on black and red.

forced to retire at 7pm due to heavy rain.

not bad for a couple of hours me thinks.

The main pool used to get a good evening rise from about the end of May onwards but I haven't fished it in the evenings since the new management took over.
There's always good fly life from the surrounding fields.
As long as they keep the weed in check it should still fish well if they're stocking it properly.

was up on wednesday and managed 5 fish to the bank. 4 on small black buzzers and 1 on a apps bloodworm. what really made my day was the fact that all the fish took on my home made flies. loads of advice on fishing the water and fly tying from john. dont write this water off going on the former comments. well worth a try.

I have been to Kinross trout fishery on several occasions and have never had any problems. Good quality fighting fish can be had on the Baxter pond.

There is also a very informative WEB site on www.kinrosstroutfishery.co.uk
