I get the feeling that Rutland Water is not yet being fished much. Opening day seemed pretty well attended with loads of blokes fishing the North side of the peninsula, but the rest of the weekend seemed very quiet?

I got out Saturday evening and only saw 2 other anglers off the bank (and they fished for an hour or so only) , and a couple of boats. Sunday evening I think I could see someone off the Finches but I was over Whitwell way and didn't see an angler, and only 1 boat. Last night there were a few more out, and excuse me but they'll forgive for this, it was the usual old codgers, and all fishing the same bit.

It's early days I know, but is no-one fishing the banks this year?

Perhaps people are cutting back during the economic down turn. Also the weather forecast over the last week hasn't been great.

At this time of year it usually fishes better in the morning than the evening, by the time that you had visited at the weekend most bank anglers would have caught their fish and gone home

There is somthing wrong this year. Pitsford has been deserted since opening day. The Saturday after opening day saw only 2 boats out.....that's unheard of.

Spoke to a warden on Monday. He said it was quiet over the weekend, but put this down to so many being there on the Friday.

Should be good tomorrow.

Very few bankies out t'day or yesterday but the fishing on the buzzer was exceptional.

I couldn't get into the Stockie bay car park today, it was stuffed full of cars and anglers. The boats I saw were all catching about 20 yards from the bank!

exceptional buzzer fishing I like the sound of that I'm really looking forward tomorrow even more now! How's the north arm Al?
