I contacted Vicarage Spinney today and they are in the process of building the lodge now they have planning permission.

The water is still a season ticket water at present (and season ticket holders that are members on here?) but they plan to open up for day tickets in May/June.

Any comments on the fishery would be welcome (via PM if you prefer).

Spent an afternoon at Vicarage Spinney today. it was my first visit and I am amazed how many thousands of times I have driven up an down the M1 without spying it. And how pleasant that the same fir trees that shield the sight of it from said motorway also keep the noise to a minimum.

New lodge is open and a day ticket is only £15 take 2 then C&R. There is also an attractive offer on season tickets at the moment.

After a 2 month lay off I was not too confident in success but once the fish had been found in the downwind corner a viva produced the first.
Despite the temperature being 4C in the sun some small flies were hatching and fish were taking so a quick change to a spider type emerger brought a happy half hour that ended with the fly in tatters. I will be back there soon.
