Default Are You All Content With What You've Got ?

Me, there's always two or three things I'm missing. That C&F compartmented fly box will hold all the extra flies I've tied over the last three weeks. Really need a Rio Gold for the new rod I bought last month. Could really do with a 3/4 weight reel to set up and leave the French nymphing leader on. Oh, and a Vision nipper, like the one on my vest, to replace the cheap one I have on the lanyard at the moment. Funny how the list never gets shorter

Yep. Just cos I've a "gap" in my armoury, I'm looking for an 8' 5wt to fit between my 7' 4# and my 9' 6#, just in case i ever find myself in a situation where I might need one. So....I'll need a reel to suit it....mmmm fancy a silver one this time.....and i might try a PP floater that everyone rates, but I might need an inter as well...I've heard Airflow inters are good. But mind....I'll need a casting lesson as well cos I struggle to lift my existing inter off once it has sunk (only ever used it once to try it out mind). So, if Vision do a rod, what are their reels like; they look nice in black but I fancied a silver one.....

Yes because if I haven't currently got it I possibly don't need as I'm catching fish when I'm on the water.

You just haven't got the hang of it, yet have you ?.
You'll also need a 10 ft 7/8 for chucking lures on Ressies, a 10.5ft4wt for boat work and an 11ft 3wt for Czech Nymphing.
You're bound to want to chuck some fluff at pike sooner or later so you'll need a 9.5ft 10wt.
And your 7ft is a bit big for small streams, a 6ft would be useful.
Now, reels...............

Burn it.

Spend the money on frivolities like gas bills and food.

It is a disease with no known cure other than the inevitable, I believe its latin name is Tacklum Tarticus Extremus. I have an afflication which had me staring at my reel case the other day convincing myself that firstly 6 reels was not enough and secondly I needed a bigger reel case. It is hopeless, just sit back and enjoy it, you would only squander the money on wild women, drink and big cigars if you had the energy to enjoy them!

All the best

I've tried explaining these things to SWMBO but she just does not get it.
My Hardy 9ft 6" #7 for general fluffing.
A Greys GRXi #5 for dries.
And I need a new (budget'ish) #7/8 for lure chucking in the winter months.
Of course, I'll need a selection of lines, and leader materials, and flies, reels, clothing and....and.....and......

I was drinking my coffee when I read that; consequently you owe me a new keyboard

I was a long term sufferer of the affliction you mention, although it went into remission around the time I took a job with a big drop in salary!
