can anyone tell me what are the best nymph to use for trout, in hight water low water and what ones work best at different time of year.any help will be great was at a fly show and was given a nymph by a tier it had a disco head and i tried it out i took and released 17 trout out of one hole .that was good for me as i never tried it before .tried it again and nothing the water was high and coloured at this time.

only an opinion and my personal favourite is the Diawl Bach, is always on my cast when fishing Nymphs.

I'm never without the usual suspects, PTN and GRHE whatever the conditions..........Diawl Bach is also worth having. Rather than worry about what type of nymph I'd make sure that whatever I stocked in my box is in a range of sizes and colours. Much more important I feel than a definative dressing..................birdsnest
