Question BUNGS- INDICATORS-quite simply its float fishing

Just to see what you proper fly fishers out there think of the bungs and indicators.

Im totally against them, quite simply this is float fishing not fly.

A float sits on the top of the water, when a fish takes the float submerges and you strike into the fish.

A bung sits on the top of the water, when a fish takes the bung submerges and you strike into the fish.

An indicator sits on the top of the water, when a fish takes the indicator
submerges and you strike into the fish.

Can you see what im getting at and more to the point its the most boring way of fishing i can image.

Fly fishers what your feeling on the above subject.

Tight lines

It isn't fly-fishing, it's float-fishing.

And when you don't use an indicator, you watch your line and when it submerges you strike. Perhaps we should disapprove of floating lines.

Unless someone ties one on your own leader then i wouldn't let it bother you.
As long as the person is enjoying their day on the water and they are not doing anything against the fishery rules then have at it !

Lure fishing isn't Flyfishing either then?
Going by the fact a lure is not a representation of a FLY!

Yes, exactly. In my opinion, anyone who fishes anything but dry flies is throwing his stones from within a glass house.
