Default Where do you keep your used flies?

Whilst fishing where do you keep your used flies?

I have been using progressively smaller patterns over recent years and with the good trend towards barbless hooks am finding that 50% fall out from my sheepskin patch.

Do you stick em' back in the box? Or do you hang them like me on a piece of sheepskin or do you use one of those fancy ventilated boxes?

I know that this subject has been raised before but am wondering if any changes in people's minds has taken place.

Cheers in advance.

Yes, this is the one I use C&F Fly Protector, but I generally just keep it in a pocket and do not have it pinned to my waistcoat.

I use a pocket size plastic box with inner divisions so that I can put the patterns for the day in separate sections. I keep one or two sections free and put the used flies in that, sort them out at the end of the day at home and let them dry before putting them back in the same kind of box but bigger. I get the boxes very cheaply from electronics supplier stores, much cheaper than the ones sold specifically for flies but every bit as good.

I use one of these (but I got mine from Grommit):

Streamworks Chest Fly Box on eBay (end time 08-Apr-11 12:21:31 BST)

I'm a sucker for gadgets anyway but I got one of these after seeing a similar one that Pedro (on here) uses.

I have to say it's the best gadget I've bought so far, particularly as I use barbless flies all the time and used to lose shed loads from the vest patch.

Same problem, some fall off my patch. I've had to start giving them a squeeze in an amadou patch then putting them back in my "day box". When I get home I pop them in the vice and give them a blow dry and fluff up before filing them by size/colour/season/how much i love them etc........

I keep mine on a folding patch on my waistcoat. Still the best solution around, IMHO. If I loose the odd one, it gives me an excuse to get back on the vice.

I use a couple of old camera film containers with a couple of small holes drilled in them, simply attach to your jacket with a piece or para cord or similiar or leave in your pocket, then sort them out once dried at home
