Post under the indicator?

I can understand fishing buzzers, but whats the score fishing blobs, damsels, rabbits or any other lures under an indicator. What's next electro shock fly fishing???

Indicator fishing isn't for me either, though it does take a lot of fish, a couple of places i do fish, won't allow you to fish lures etc, under the indicator, and i don't wonder why.

Oh and as an aside someone should have thrown those 2 failed abortions from the youtube video in the water prior to detonation, since they couldn't be relied on to blow their own hands off.

My 2 cents

Jim

its a strange one for me ,,,, i fished with a guy who will happily use the bung / pimp with a team of buzzers and catches fish .
he offered me one of his spare pimps and i politely refused and i blanked lol.
i was up at the local fishery a while back and a guy on the next platform was pulling fish out every other cast and i blanked lol...

i personally wont use a pimp BUT i will use a bushy dry fly or i plan in using a foam pattern when i go out this week ... at least i will give it a go but this seems more acceptable to me for some reason, probably because i am still using 2 or more flies and not a bit of plastic like a pimp lol.

Good to see the moral compass has been found ... I thought it had been lost since Ron Clay's disappearance.

Before the whole row about fishing a bung kick's off yet again, why don't we determine what is a 'fly' as in flyfishing? Once upon a time it used to be defined as an artificial made of natural fur and feather, the availability of modern tying materials has obviously moved this on somewhat with all sorts of synthetics and the like now being available. How can anyone decry using the 'bung' when they are quite prepared to fish a static 'booby' on a fast sink line? I'm all for the purist's of the sport that like to go out and catch a fish by matching the hatch as they say but I'm also in support of those that wish to fish any method they choose providing it is within the fishery rules. How can it be classed as 'cheeting' if it is legal. Why don't we just get on with doing what we all enjoy and stop snipping at the way others fish - life's just to short.

I'm not saying not to fish blobs, boobies or any other such flies. But fishing them static under an indicator is just one step closer, to sticking on a blob of power bait, then pushing in a couple of feathers & calling it a fly. I'm old enough to remember when the dog nobbler, first made an appearance & was banned from alot of waters. Times do change, styles change. But it's not always for the best.
