Welcome to the forum mac. I suggest going with someone experienced who may know the water. It saves time flogging the water to no avail.

Hi Mac
Welcome to the forum

Practice , practice , practice!

Your rod is a machine ...learn to use it correctly and the rod will do the work for you....dont be phased by the horizon and try for perfect short casts rather than bad long ones . Fish are just as likely to be under your feet as 5 yards out of reach......oft overlooked by beginners and old hands alike.

My two pennt'h
